Learning code is like hiking up a big mountain trail. It takes persistence, endurance and patience. When my son and I started this adventure, neither of us had any prior coding experience. Yet, over time, we have made steady progress by working together just two hours a day.
But not everyone has the time to take it slow. Some want to go at a faster pace. It's really up to your goal and your commitment to follow through. Slow and steady or fast and furious, learning online is geared towards the individual. That's the beauty of today's technology. We each have the ability to learn anything if we have the determination.
Below are the screenshots of previous versions of this Code Moms website as we have developed over the last two years.
This is my first attempt at website using only HTML with some inline styling. Very Simple.
This is the second version using HTML and CSS for colors.
By May, we had begun to learn about working with images. We also added a nav bar and included external hyperlinks to my blog page. This site is still built with only HTML and CSS.
After learning some more CSS, this version, included floating divs as well as social media icons and links.
Version 5 includes a fixed background image and added boxes around the images with opaque transparencies. It also has a color scheme to match the theme of hiking on trails.
After learning about the importance of building a website with a mobile-first approach and built version 6 with a Bootstrap framework. Much of the content and design is the same, but now, our website is more flexible and can be seen on any sized device.
This is our current version. It has a Bootstrap collapsible navbar for easier viewing on mobile devices and a sticky background with scrolling divs for a more dynamic user experience.
